The Festival of Language at the 2014 Midwest Modern Language Association’s annual conference in Detroit
Conference Theme: “The Lives of Cities”
Remixing the City: Remixing Language–Panel will be held on Thursday, November 13 at 2:15 p.m. and will include
Jane L. Carman–“The Object((i)fic(a)tion of the City Through Dust-Colored Glasses”
Janet Ruth Heller–“Growing Up on the Other Side of Lake Michigan”
Joshua M. Murray–“‘For a Moment I wondered’: Transnational Sites of Memory in the Life Writing of Langston Hughes”
William Yarrow–“The Formalization of the Found Object”
Also, please Join Us as a Participant!
There will also be a reading eXperiment held at 4:00 p.m. made up of 100% audience participation. Bring your writing and your friends–it’s sure to be a great time!
Location TBA, but both sessions will be in the same room and will last 90 minutes each.
